Photo, Signature & PDF Size Limits for Indian Exams
Every limit below was read from the exam body's own 2026 notice or bulletin, not from a coaching site, and each row links to the page it came from. Open an exam to get a tool already set to its numbers.

Sizes are the portal's own. SSC signature dimensions are "about 6 × 2 cm" in the notice; where it gives no resolution we show our 200 dpi conversion on the exam's page.
Why you can't copy one exam's numbers to another
It is tempting to remember "photo 20–50 KB, signature 10–20 KB" and use it everywhere. It is right for IBPS (20–50 KB and 10–20 KB) and wrong for most of the rest. NEET, JEE and CUET take a photo of 10–200 KB with no pixel size at all, but their signature limits differ: 10–100 KB for NEET and JEE, only 10–50 KB for CUET. SSC takes no photo file: the form switches on your camera and captures it, and a photo of an old photo is rejected.
A file that is fine for one portal can therefore be refused by the next, and the error message usually arrives after you have filled in the whole form. Each exam page here applies that exam's own limits and then checks the finished file against them, so you see the problem before the portal does.
How these numbers are checked
Each entry is added only after the official notification has been opened and the numbers read from it, with the page recorded beside them. Where a document contradicts itself — the NEET bulletin gives 10–200 KB for thumb impressions in one place and 50–300 KB in another — the exam page says so and uses the range that satisfies both. Exams not yet listed (UPSC, RRB NTPC, GATE, scholarship and passport portals) are left out until their documents can be read, rather than filled in from memory.

Questions
Need a size that isn't listed? Resize an image to any KB size
Are the limits the same for every exam?
No, and that is the main trap. Among the exams here the photo limit is 20–50 KB for IBPS, 10–200 KB for NEET, JEE and CUET, and a live camera capture (no file) for SSC; the signature limit is 10–20 KB for SSC, 10–20 KB for IBPS, 10–50 KB for CUET and 10–100 KB for NEET and JEE.
Why do other websites list different numbers?
Exams change their rules between cycles, and many pages are written once and never updated. SSC's 2026 notices, for example, capture your photo with the camera instead of taking a file, and the 2026 NEET bulletin says the signature can be up to 100 KB, not 30 KB. Every number on this page was read from the official 2026 document linked beside it, with the page it is on.
Is a KB 1,000 bytes or 1,024?
Portals don't say. To be safe on either, the tools here keep a file under the maximum counted at 1,000 bytes per KB and over the minimum counted at 1,024 bytes per KB.
My exam isn't listed. Can I still resize my photo?
Yes. Resize Image to KB takes any size limit and any pixel size you type in. Exams are added here only once their official notification has been opened and read — UPSC, RRB, GATE, scholarship and passport portals are next.
Are my photos and signature uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything is processed in your browser, and the pages keep working offline once loaded. You can confirm that in your browser's Network tab.
