AsliPDF (असली = real, authentic in Hindi) was born from a simple frustration: most online PDF tools require you to upload your documents to a server, wait in a queue, create an account, or pay for basic features. We believe working with PDFs should be instant, private and free.
Every tool on AsliPDF processes your files entirely inside your browser tab. Your documents are read into your device's memory, transformed using client-side JavaScript and WebAssembly libraries, and the result downloads directly back to you.
That is a property of how the site is built rather than a promise we ask you to take on trust. AsliPDF has no backend and no API endpoints — there is no server-side code here that could receive a document even if we wanted it to. You can check that for yourself in about thirty seconds: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use any tool on the site. You will see the page and its code load, and then no further request carrying your file, because none is made.
This matters most for the documents people are rightly nervous about. Masking an Aadhaar or PAN number, redacting a bank statement, or resizing a passport photo on a site that uploads your file first is a strange trade to make. Here the file never leaves the device it is already on. Earlier versions of AsliPDF included AI features that sent extracted text to a third-party API; those have been removed, and with them the only route by which any document content left your device.
