Turn an email into a permanent record
Emails are constantly needed as documents in their own right: proof of an agreement, a paper trail for HR or a dispute, a receipt, a piece of correspondence to file with a case, or simply a record you want to keep after an account is closed. The trouble is that an email lives inside a mailbox, and forwarding or printing it often loses the headers that make it trustworthy — who sent it, to whom, and when. The PDF places the Subject, From, To, Cc and Date at the top, drawn from the email's real headers, then a divider, then the full message body. Private by design — no trackers, ever
Marketing and phishing emails routinely embed a tiny remote image — a tracking pixel — that reports back to the sender the moment the email is opened and its images load. For an ordinary email that is merely annoying; for an email you are archiving as evidence, it is a real problem, because it can tip off the sender that you are reviewing their message. Tools that render an email by loading its HTML in a browser fetch those remote resources and fire the trackers.
This tool works differently. It parses the raw email file on your device and extracts the text, and it never makes a single network request while doing so. Remote images and tracking pixels are simply not loaded, so archiving an email here is silent — the sender learns nothing. When the message is HTML-only, its text is extracted into a clean layout rather than rendered, which keeps the output readable and, again, tracker-free. Nothing is ever uploaded to a server either, so even sensitive correspondence stays entirely on your machine.
Searchable text, headers, and attachments
Because the email is laid out as real, selectable text, the PDF it produces is fully searchable — you can find a phrase across a folder of archived emails, copy a quote into another document, or run it through the text tools on this site. That is a meaningful advantage over saving an email as an image or a flat scan, where the words are locked inside a picture. The headers are decoded properly too, including subjects and names that were encoded for non-English characters, so the record is accurate.
Attachments are acknowledged in the output: the PDF lists each attached file's name and size, so the record reflects exactly what came with the email, even though the attachment files themselves are saved separately. Combined with the header block and the tracker-free parsing, the result is a faithful, self-contained snapshot of the message — suitable for personal archives, business records, and legal or HR files alike. Will it load images or tracking pixels from the email?
No — and that is deliberate. The tool reads only the email file itself and never makes any network request, so remote images, read-receipts, and tracking pixels are never triggered. That matters when you are archiving an email as evidence, because opening it normally could silently notify the sender that you read it.
Does it keep the From, To, Date and Subject?
Yes. Those headers are parsed and placed at the top of the PDF, above a divider, followed by the message body — so the record is complete and clearly attributable.
Can it open Outlook .msg files?
Not directly. This tool handles the standard .eml format. If you have a .msg file, most email clients can re-save or export the message as .eml, which you can then convert here.
What happens to attachments?
The PDF lists each attachment's name and size so the record shows what was attached, but the attachment files themselves are not embedded. Save those separately from your email client if you need them.
Is the text in the PDF selectable?
Yes. The email is laid out as real text, not a picture, so the resulting PDF is fully searchable and you can copy from it — which is exactly what you want for records and legal filing.
